Garfield Elementary is full of history. It officially became apart of the Boise School District in 1910 but was part on an independent school district before that. In 1927, the school moved across the Boise Ave to where it is today. Garfield became the main school in East Boise and was beginning to overflow in the 1980s in which Liberty Elementary was made. To this day Garfield Elementary still runs to serve students in East Boise. Garfield is an architectural phenomenon! It is full of curves, bumps, and designs. Its entrance does not even look like a school entrance but more like a master palace. Garfield Elementary School is host to many ghost stories in which many teachers and students have either seen or felt someone there. One teacher told a story saying that while she and her daughter began to leave late one day, they were about to head down the stairs when she forgot something and told her daughter to wait for her. When she returned her daughter asked her about the man that she saw. The teacher was a little freaked out because she knew she was the only one in the building and did not see any man. This is one such story of the many that haunt Garfield Elementary.
