The Carley-Eaton Residence, constructed in 1958, is located on the a hilltop in the east of Boise foothills. This building resembles one of the classic examples of Troutner's residential architecture. The inside of the house contains a curve that enfolds the private family area with an interior walkway that connects one end of the house to the other. The living room and master bedroom are defined with Oakley stone walls. The ceiling of this house is constructed by using the truss deck system. The truss deck was originally Troutners invention in order to be able to hide the heavy beams supporting the roof. Source: An Essay on Art Troutner by Nels Reese
